It's surprising how often the concept of "free leads" still comes up in business. Many CFOs and CEOs request them, thinking that their product should speak for itself. But let's not forget the Post-it Note story. Did you know that for two years, the company gave them away for free? It took time for the product to truly "stick" and become the dependable companion we know today. And those free samples weren't actually free for the distributing business, were they?! 💸 Even though the yellow note remains a classic, Post-it Notes have made the electronic jump - we've all seen Miro or Figma boards - showcasing the power of a truly sticky product and a strong recognisable brand. But it all happened with significant investment from the company, both monetary and time-wise.
