It’s quite remarkable how long this topic has been rambling on for.

For me – the possibility of remote working was a vital factor in deciding to join Ashley James. Why?

βœ… I live in Valencia with my girlfriend who also works remotely.
βœ… It allows me to start learning a new language (β€˜Yo soy Sebastian, cΓ³mo estΓ‘?)
βœ… I spend time at the beach after work
 βœ… Sun.
βœ… Opportunity to travel easily (Week in Lisbon/Athens/etc.? 100%!)
βœ… Co-working spaces are great and have solid social events to help with the transition into a new city
 βœ… Less distractions

And last but definitely not least: βœ… π‘·π’“π’π’…π’–π’„π’•π’Šπ’—π’Šπ’•π’š. I’ve worked from home/abroad for about 8 months total in my career and those have been my most effective.

Of course, home-working isn’t for everyone, and not every position/job/industry is equally suited for it. Seems to me, however, that the 'downsides' to the employer are often overplayed, and the 'upside' to the employee not mentioned enough.

 What do you think?
