EXAMPLES REQUESTED - a call out for your fave campaigns that particularly tapped in to one of your five senses
๐ฉ๐ผ๐ Iโm giving a lecture on Thurs about โsensory marketingโ
OKโฆall marketing employs at least some of our senses eg sight, sound.
But which campaigns or brand marketing e.g. packaging, stick in your mind for dialling up, or playing with, a specific sense?
An unusual use of smell?
An ad that made made you want to touch it (creepy but effective)?
Or just a neat use of a format to appeal to our usual marketing-attune responses: Iโm reminded of the bee buzzing โaround the cinemaโ from the Digital Cinema Media awards last year.
Please post below as itโll all help enrich the seminar and make our future media brains a bit excited.
(FYI Iโm also asking โnon-mediaโ people this question to avoid too much naval gazing!)
PS if any keen students are reading this, please feel free to look up any examples and come with thoughts

Today, not one, not two, but four people complimented me. Four awesome people who chose to make my day a little brighter.
My first thoughtโฆhow bad do I usually look? It was fleeting! I can't control what others say, but I can control how I react. And reacting negatively to something positive is a talent I donโt need to embrace. โ
I'm pleased to report that my career as a catwalk model will remain on pause while I continue loving what I do at OnTrack. Colleagues can continue their quest to guess my next hair colour! ๐ฉ๐ป๐ค
Beneath the surface, we all wrestle with our inner critics, that little voice that undermines our self-esteem and skews our perceptions. Mine takes the shape of a negative numbat. ๐ง
Today, why not confront your numbat? Have a conversation (internally or out loud), acknowledge its presence, and then decide to lead with a #PositiveResponse. #Resilience is personal and starts by understanding you. ๐ซต
Letโs face it: the odds are better chasing genuine happiness than a modelling career. A recent Ipsos survey found that 73% of people claim they are #Happy. So why not focus on what brings joy? ๐
Go ahead, strut your stuff, and chase what really matters to you!

I arrived fashionably late to a party - actually, it was more than fashionable, it was borderline daring. As I put on my makeup and grooved to my hair straightener's rhythm, I was convinced I had all the time in the world. In just 40 minutes, I was ready, and my driver was revved up to go. But upon our grand entrance, the party was over.
How?, I pondered.
I double-checked the invitation, and there it was in bold: "The party doesn't wait โ see you at 4 pm." It was 5:30pm, and it felt like this event should've been a marathon, not a sprint, especially for an African like me.
This experience got me thinking: Why didn't I get ready on time? Why didn't I plan when I had roughly 8 hours to prepare?
Here's the twist: This scenario mirrors our lives and careers. At times, we procrastinate, delaying courses or skills acquisition, believing we have an eternity. But truth is, life's opportunities doesnโt wait for anyone, just like that party.
To shape the life and career you desire, it's time to be proactive. Don't wait until you're "African time late" in your career. Begin now, invest in your growth, and seize every opportunity.
Remember, success smiles upon the prepared!

Do your show up when the process isnโt sexy ?
I'm going to admit something that I don't think many people admit enough in public:
I'm feeling flat.
Here's the crazy part:
- I have great purpose
- I've got clear direction
- I have a great family
- I do lots for myself
So, I've been digging into my mind to figure out what on earth is going on.
Here's my conclusion: day-to-day life is mainly grey, bland, and unsexy. Doing the work required to be successful and fulfilled can be, well, slightly dull at times.
But it's necessary to achieve what I call your highlight reels. These are the wins, breakthroughs, milestones, and goals achieved.
Here's the problem: many people who feel flat from the process often quit, forget their mission, and lose connection. This causes them to never reach their desired outcome.
The hardest part of being successful is realising that the process is not always sexy, but showing up regardless.
Otherwise, nothing is ever achieved, and you end up with an unsexy process and no fulfillment.
To summarise, personal and professional development is a journey.
There will be times when you feel up, but also times when you feel down.
It's how you show up when you're down that will determine your fate.

๐ค What matters more: promotion or work joy? ๐
๐ฏ In the race for success, we often chase promotions, but let's not forget the importance of finding joy in our work! ๐ผ๐ซ
๐ Promotions may bring recognition, but true fulfillment comes from loving what we do every day. ๐ช๐
๐ก Prioritize joy! It fuels motivation, creates a positive impact, and sustains us for the long haul. ๐
๐ Success isn't just about titles; it's about finding joy in the journey! ๐ฅ
