Two key messages from the article "How to Overcome Your Reluctance to Ask for Help at Work" by Wayne Baker:
➡️ Signs of reluctance include: assuming no one can help us; not feeling we've earned the privilege of a request; not wanting to appear selfish.
➡️ Try completing the statement "I'm currently working on...and I could use help to..."

How my day went?
I woke up just in time to do my morning routine and clock in at work (perks of working remotely). Checked my mails and replied to messages.
Since today is Friday, I needed to track the progress we've made this week and the work we've done. While at it, something came up so I hopped on an impromptu call with my teammates, having my breakfast at the same time.
Next, we had a series of discovery calls with top talents because one of the things we do at SupportPro [By SalesPlat] is provide organizations with top talent.
In between the discovery call breaks, I remembered it's my birth month, so I checked the calendar to see what day of the week it is. It's on a Friday - not bad! 💃🏼
I took a little break and caught my mind wandering about what to do for my birthday. Then I remembered the conversation I had with a friend about having a virtual career chat with other young professionals.
To be honest, I've not made up my mind yet. It's going to be a busy month and I'm skeptical about adding to my workload. I hope to make up my mind by Monday though!
I got back to having discovery calls and shortlisting candidates for a new role.
That's pretty much how my day went. How did your day go?
Happy new month to you! 🎉

Let me make this abundantly clear, I am not the most prolific LinkedIn poster, so please bear with me.
Today, I had the privilege of being able to take the time to walk in London.
I know, to many, it’s not always a pleasure, but that said, walking is my preferred form of transport. And it is a privilege.
As part of my walk, I was lucky enough to catch a view of the below. To many, it’ll be a random photo of a random boat. To others, it’ll be somewhere they’ve maybe spent a few hours. So why is it important to me? Keltec colleagues, take note. And Compaq/Sun people, please reply.
It reminds me of the start of my IT career.
John Fison
It was the mid-90’s.
IT as an industry seemed so new. It was absolutely relationship based. It was so exciting. Digital became Compaq. Sun became Oracle. It was suits and ties and B52’s. It was a cocktail wheel and sales floor surfing. It was one day out and many nights lost.
High Holborn was the place to be. Loved it.
Resellers became integrators. Vendor managers became deal makers. End users became friends. And most importantly, those friends became sounding boards for new opportunities.
I feel incredibly lucky to have had a 30 year career in IT, and I will never ever forget those people that have had an impact on my IT life.
And before you start to think, that that’s based on a well-worded email or a nicely phrased case study, don’t get me wrong, they’re great. But, my real thanks go to the people that have said thank you; the customers that have said “great job”, or the ones that have said, “I couldn’t have done that without your support”.
The only thing better, is to hear previous colleagues and collaborators say, “I can’t wait to work with you again “.
How great an endorsement is that?
I’ll take that every day of the week. And, as my experience has built from a neuro-diverse perspective, you take it as: you really are OK.
OK, for me, is my best form of great.
That won’t make sense to a lot of people, but I’m not sure that there’s a better way for me to say that I understand how diversity plays a part of your day today.
So, to people that have allowed me into their professional lives, and employees that worked at resellers like Keltec, thank you. To my colleagues at that time, and there are absolutely too many to name in one LinkedIn post, Ian R (TBBF) says thank you.
And if you’re wondering what TBBF stands for, you were never my friend 🤣🤣🤣 xx
Lindsay Dean, Noeleen Flanagan you might not think that this mail relates, but it’s absolutely about you and your support. Love you both x
John Fison lots of people owe you a debt of gratitude, and over the last 30 years, they may have been slow on coming forward, me included. To Keith Colman, John Fison and Brian Griffiths

Tiffany this is a great list for our fellow #LinkedIn'ers who are sidelined for now. I would add one more thing that many who have worked at LinkedIn may not consider ... you are SO close to your profile, take another look at it!
1. Is it structured in a way that delivers your professional brand?
2. Is it scannable, easy to understand and not filled with buzz?
3. Is it self-promoting or 'team' promoting?
4. Is it "ATS" friendly (applicant tracking systems like bullets and simple formats)?
5. Is it reflective not only of what you DID do, but what you WANT to do, as a pro?
Good luck to us all. Network, network, network... (and reach out to me, as I am doing the same!)

Happy Monday LinkedIn.
As you begin another week, have you asked yourself or your team what you are going to do differently this week to achieve the results you expect?
This may not be applicable if you are crushing your goals and accomplishing everything you would like to achieve, no sense in fixing what isn't broken. However, this isn't the case for many. This year has presented head winds and challenges for many industries, so you must adapt.
Hitting a number or checking a box to meet a metric only hurts yourself in the long run. Challenge the status quo, think outside the box, try something new that you haven't tried before. Not only will this be refreshing, but it just might also net you the results you weren't finding elsewhere.

Today is bittersweet. After nearly 4 years, I am turning the page on my Kelly chapter and getting ready to write a new one.
But before I do, I want to take a moment to recognize the wonderful people who poured into my life while I’ve been here, starting with Edward Markert.
Ed took a chance on me in May of 2020. It was a wild time to be looking for a job, and an even wilder time to be hiring in staffing. As I went through the interview process with no staffing experience and no recent tech sales experience, Ed was candid with me. “You’re not the most qualified candidate we’ve talked to, but your service industry experience tells me you have grit and tenacity, and that’s what this job requires.” Ed fought for me to get the position, and I started in June of 2020.
I wasn’t on Ed’s team for long before they restructured who had the Texas market and I ended up reporting to Steve McCarthy. Hands down, the greatest boss I’ve ever had. Steve spent countless hours and after hours with me, especially during that first year, teaching me about the Kelly ecosystem, how to figure out where the low hanging fruit business was, and talk tracks for a variety of different buyers. He has been my biggest cheerleader, and built me up on days when I felt my lowest. Through his guidance I was able to earn a spot as Rookie of the Year at our 2021 Legends Circle, and had great success beyond that. Steve is a selfless leader, and a great mentor and friend. And when I look back on my career someday, Steve will be someone I point to as playing a critical role in my success. I can’t thank him enough.
Next I’d like to thank everyone on my team: Andre Van Oyen III, Amanda Larson, Doah Lee, Natalie Hamilton, Trey Flemings, and Niki Bergen. Y’all are amazing! I have loved how our team felt like a family. We built each other up and shared ideas/strategies, and what’s working/not working. Every single one of you is so talented and brings an energy and fire that pushed me to be my best, and I can’t thank y’all enough for that. To say that I will miss each of you is an understatement.
Then there’s Trung Thai, our beloved and fearless leader for the IT arm of Kelly. I cannot even begin to tell you the number of weekly trainings, role plays, and strategy calls this man led for our organization. He is a wealth of knowledge and genuinely cares about helping each AE reach their fullest potential. And thank you, Trung, for actually caring enough to take the time to get to know me personally. I can’t say a lot of leaders at your level have the time to (or care to) spend with people individually, but you do. It says a lot about you and the kind of leader you are.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who worked to support me at the recruting level and/or was a true friend even if though we never met in person. I can’t tag all of you because I’m at my character limit 🫠 but you know who you are! Love y’all so much!
Thanks for the memories, Kelly 💚 It was a great run! #kellyproud

So, you are telling me that you made a 7-figure income last month (as per your recent post), and got 5 marquee multi-million dollar clients to work with you — all of it with that 'Open To Work' badge on, and applying to every full-time job opening on LinkedIn without catching a breath? 💀
Interesting!

Yeap… it’s December… already! I swear it was just summertime and now I’m looking for Christmas gifts for the littles in the family 🎅🫣
Well now that you have gone down your gift list and completed all of your Black Friday shopping, check out your list of set goals for the year and determine if you were naughty or nice!!
Job Seekers:
✅ Tailored your #resume to every job announcement, and minimized the exaggeration. If the hiring manager can verify that you stretched the truth, then don’t add it.
✅ Search for #jobs online, and use your network to get a referral. Word of mouth can go further than a piece of paper.
❌ You didn’t take every “No” personally because their decision to hire someone else may have nothing to do with you. Just keep going until you get a “Yes” that you won’t regret. #donotsettle
Career Professionals:
✅ Did you meet the annual goals set for yourself and your supervisor? If not, did you determine why not, and if in your realm to complete, will you add it to your goals for 2024?
✅ Did you learn a new skill? This can be a course, workshop, certification, or on-the-job training. You should be in a constant mode of learning to benefit you, and indirectly the organization. Put you first always!
❌ Did you set boundaries and adhere to them? Oh, and I hope you took Vacation time to go on a vacation (or staycation)!! The work will always be there but if you don’t take care of yourself, you won’t be!!
Entrepreneurs:
✅ Were you committed to your business (time, effort, and sacrifice) and scaling your business’s product/service without minimizing quality and your business’s reputation?
✅ Did you make a profit or gain a partnership/investment/opportunity for the future? Remember that an average start-up small business may not see a profit until 3-5 years from opening. Of course, there are the ones that start with a profit, but consider how to maintain that momentum for years to come (you may need to pivot!).
❌ Is your business set up properly? EIN, business plan, Operating Agreement, a separate bank account, etc. This should be the first step but if not, don’t lose your assets or your mind by not establishing your business officially/legally. Plus, you get bragging rights of owning a company, you can receive financial assistance if need be, and you can bid on government contracts (to name a few).
Whatever bucket you fall in, don’t end up on the naughty list. If you didn’t meet your goal this year, make a plan for next year and take action!! Lastly, take care of yourself, your family, the people around you, your stakeholders, etc. Your goals are no good if you aren’t! ✌
